About Role:

HARMAN Automotive is seeking a skilled Android Framework Developer to join their automotive engineering team. In this role, you will design and develop advanced Android framework components and services for automotive platforms. As an Android Framework Developer, you will:

• Design and develop headless services for communication components.
• Create AIDL interfaces between UI and headless applications.
• Develop Android framework components and HAL services for automotive platforms.
• Measure and optimize component performance to meet automotive KPIs.
• Collaborate with user concept teams and multi-location teams to integrate customer-centric Android apps.
• Engage in full-stack Android development, learning and adapting to new technologies.

Key Technical Skills

• Android Framework Development, AOSP / AAOS, AIDL Interface Design, Multimedia Services (Audio/Video), Java, Kotlin, Linux

Requirements (Must-Have):

• Experience: 3-6 years in Android framework and services development.
• Expertise: Strong background in AOSP, AAOS, Android framework, and services.
• Multimedia: Experience working with multimedia services (audio and video).
• Programming: Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, and Linux.
• AIDL: Experience designing and implementing AIDL interfaces.
• Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Bonus Points if You Have:

• Experience with automotive-grade Android platforms.
• Knowledge of automotive protocols like CAN, LIN, and Ethernet.
• Familiarity with other programming languages (e.g. Python, C#).
• Android certification or relevant credentials.
